The Bourne Hypocrisy rips Palin

In a Sep 8th interview with the AP, actor Matt Damon lashes at McCain’s pick of Palin for VP.

During the bash session, Damon ridicules Palin as “the mayor of a really, really small town and she’s the governor of Alaska for less than two years.”

I must’ve missed that in the Constitution stating that the size of a town in which you govern is a qualification for presidency or vice-presidency.

Note how Damon, parroting the standard liberal putdown about the population of Wasilla, doesn’t say Palin did a bad job as mayor. No, the only crime is that she was mayor of a small town…as if the principles she used to be successful over smaller populations are somehow invalid over large populations.

Oh, and newsflash, Matt: Barack Obama has been U.S. senator for less than three years. So you were saying about inexperience…?

Damon then says what if she becomes President Palin and has to face down Russia’s Vladimir Putin “using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s absurd. It’s totally absurd. I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about how absurd it is.”
Maybe what’s more absurd is having a wimpy appeaser like Obama talking to Putin. Or talking to leaders of rogue nations without preconditions.
Lastly, Damon demands to know if Palin believes dinosaurs walked the earth 4,000 years ago. “That’s important…I want to know that because she’s gonna have the nuclear codes,” he says.
I don’t know what Palin believes about dinosaurs but I do know that creationists do not have a burning itch to launch nuclear weapons. Perhaps Damon has other brilliant cause-effect theories to offer to the public… a Cubs fan is more likely to eat tomatoes than a non-Cubs fan? A Hollywood actor is more likely to do tired Ocean’s Eleven sequels? Oh wait…
Does Damon believe his family tree includes monkeys and lizards? That’s important. I want to know that because he’s endorsing a presidential candidate.
To think I used to like Matt Damon. Thanks for speaking up, Matt…now I know who not to support with my entertainment dollars.
