Josh Howard disses national anthem
By drredeye • Sep 18th, 2008 • Category: SportsDallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard is back in the news. After prior incidents like a July arrest for drag racing at 94 mph in a 55 zone, a YouTube video surfaced this week that promises to hammer his image further and stoke debate about whether Howard is an Obama supporter.
While at a charity flag football game (apparently in July), the national anthem plays in the background as Howard approaches a camera and says:
“The Star Spangled Banner is going on right now. I don’t even celebrate that [expletive]. I’m black.”
He and another person then make references to Barack Obama, with phrases like “Obama”, “Obama 08″, and apparently using Obama as a verb: “Obama all that [expletive].”
